Should Voter ID Be Required in National Elections?

I kind of find it hard to understand how people would feel marginalized voting using ID. Everyone is given a form of ID in Canada regardless of economic or racial status, so how could people be feeling uncomfortable using it to vote? The only people it would prevent from voting is people who have no business voting in a Canadian election which is exactly what we are trying to protect against.
