Poll: The Minimum Wage Debate

I think we should definitely be worried about the potential for automation erasing these jobs entirely. Minimum Wage jobs hold a very high impact in society as it allows people with no experience to get their foot in the door for experience they might need later on in their life. It also allows people to find industries they might or might not want to work in for jobs later in their life. So by removing these jobs from society we eliminate the younger populations ability to make money and in turn purchase things like their first car.

That being said increasing the minimum wage is not the answer either as we need to make living more affordable first. If we just keep increasing wages then things will just keep getting more expensive, making it a never ending cycle. We need to get to the root of the problem first before we can find a livable minimum wage.
