Based on this chart the UK has the cheapest prices, now the UK does in fact also have carbon type taxes. It isn't unified like the Canadian ones are but it is there none the less and their prices are cheaper than that of the USA. So maybe there is an underlying tissue with sourcing these products in Canada compared to the UK and could be a reason why the price is significantly higher?
They definitely don't have it like Canada has it. We are taxed in many different ways on the same product, there is a carbon tax on manufacturing the vehicle to transport it, the fuel to fuel it, the product itself is taxed, the materials to make it are taxed. We just have so much tax on everything that it raises our prices exponentially on top of our already high income tax.
