Why is Airplane Food still Terrible in 2026?
Okay, seriously… I just got off a flight, ate the “meal” they gave me, and I can’t stop thinking about it. How is airplane food still this bad in 2026? I mean, we have crazy tech, gourmet chefs, meal delivery apps, and yet somehow, airlines are still serving stuff that tastes like cardboard.
I get it, planes have tiny kitchens and food has to be reheated and stuff. But come on, surely in almost 20 years, someone could figure out a way to make in-flight meals not awful. Even on a short domestic flight, it’s basically a flavorless mush that you’re supposed to call “chicken” or “pasta.”
Is this just airlines being cheap? Or is it literally impossible to make food taste good at 30,000 feet? Because if it is, then honestly, I’d rather just skip it and eat snacks from home.
