I get what you are saying, but I feel like people romanticize boredom a bit too much. When I am bored, I am not suddenly becoming creative, I am just annoyed.
I used to think that too, but when I actually step away from my phone for a while, I do notice my mind wandering more. It is not instant, but it happens.
