Agreed. Education is key. People need the skills to question things critically, fact-check sources, and recognize their biases. Without that, even fun conspiracies can be dangerous.

I feel like some people are naturally drawn to conspiracies because it gives them control in a world that feels chaotic. There’s nothing wrong with questioning authority, but when it turns into paranoia or harassment of others, that’s a problem.

I think it comes down to knowledge and responsibility. People who do research, provide proper habitats, and understand the animal’s needs are in a very different category than someone who buys a “cool” exotic pet without thinking about it.

True, but it also depends on intent. Some folks see it as a hobby and do research; others just buy a cool-looking animal and don’t know what they’re doing. That’s where it becomes unethical, not necessarily the species itself.

I think the biggest challenge is culture. If employees are expected to do the same amount in fewer days without clear support, it’s a disaster. But if companies genuinely commit, shorter weeks could be the future.

The idea of a 4-day work week has been gaining traction around the world. Some trials show employees report higher productivity, better work-life balance, and lower stress when working four days instead of five. Companies also claim it can help with retention and employee satisfaction. But...

@KevinH Kevin, I’m curious, do you think job hopping will keep increasing, or do you think companies will eventually change their approach to try and keep employees longer?

Charlotte makes a good point. There’s probably a middle ground. Moving jobs occasionally for growth is different than constantly jumping ship the moment something slightly better appears.

Which is why the real question might be whether consumers need better digital literacy, not just stricter rules. If people understand how these tactics work, they’re less likely to fall for them.

I me, marketing has always been about persuasion though. Even old newspaper ads used emotional language. The tools are just more advanced now. I’m not sure we can suddenly say it’s unethical just because the targeting got better.
