The biggest problem in the world right now is not, inflation, climate change or war.
The Biggest Problem is Attention
If news or ideas cannot be fit into a tweet, a 30 second TikTok or news headline they basically become irrelevant now. Long form stories are a thing of the past which means information is lost, ideas as skewed and overall misinformation is spread. In today's media we are simplifying complex problems into short 1 sentence headlines and it is dividing us as people.
As we consume all of this short form content it leads to people thinking they have an understanding of what is going on because they know what is happening, but they lack the critical information of WHY and HOW it is happening. This results in a lot of people having polarized opinions because they think they understand but in reality they do not. This divides up people and leads to struggles in resolving conflicts.
Maybe it's time for us to start asking more questions instead of just listening to what we're told and we would come to conclusions a lot faster.
