Discussion Why are Electric Scooters Everywhere

I am so done with electric scooters cluttering sidewalks. Every time I leave my apartment, there’s at least three scooters just left in the middle of the walkway, tipped over, blocking paths, or parked in the most ridiculous spots. You try to walk safely and boom, you almost trip over one.

And don’t get me started on the riders themselves. Half of them ride like maniacs, weaving through pedestrians, ignoring traffic rules, and acting like the sidewalk is their personal racetrack. And cities are supposedly “regulating” this stuff, but clearly it’s not working because the chaos is still the same year after year.

It’s 2026. We have apps, GPS tracking, helmets, and laws. Yet somehow, sidewalks and streets are still being turned into scooter obstacle courses. I just want to walk safely without fearing a near-collision or having to dodge abandoned scooters every five feet. How is this allowed to continue?

OMG yes!! I almost faceplanted last week because some dude left a scooter sideways right at the bus stop. Like, come on.

Scooters are fun and all, but some people clearly have zero common sense. They’re basically the skateboards of 2026, but with electric speed.

Haha, I don’t even ride them and I feel like they’re out to get me. Half the time they’re just… lying there like landmines.

Honestly tho, scooters aren’t the problem. People who treat them like toys are. If everyone followed the rules, sidewalks wouldn’t look like a junkyard.

True, but it’s still on the city to enforce stuff. No enforcement = chaos. Simple as that.

Lol, I swear the worst is when you’re late for something and you gotta weave through like 10 scooters just to get to the street. Stressful.

@immagooglethat Exactly! It’s not even about inconvenience, it’s straight-up danger sometimes. One wrong step and boom, broken ankle or worse.

I feel like they need scooter parking zones or something. Just a designated area and call it a day.

Yeah, or a deposit system where people get fined if they leave scooters lying around. Make it financially painful, problem solved.

Honestly, any solution’s better than the current chaos. I’ve had enough of “dodge the scooter” as my daily cardio.

OMG, I hate this scooters, the city wasted so much money on these and they get destroyed or stripped down for parts. No one uses them properly.

Yeah the scooters block traffic and it's just a way for drunk people to get around.
