Ontario is choking on wildfire smoke. Communities are evacuating and losing everything, yet the Ministry is still moving ahead with the 2026 chemical spray season like it is business as usual.
But they certainly don’t want you to know about it. Most Ontarians still have no idea public forests are being sprayed. Eight spray notices were posted on X, not Facebook, where far fewer people will ever see them.
The Monsanto ghostwritten 2000 glyphosate “safety” review was retracted in December 2025. Then, in March 2026, world experts at the Seattle Glyphosate Symposium warned that the concerns go far beyond cancer and include serious reproductive, endocrine, neurological, kidney, liver and metabolic effects.
Yet the same old line keeps getting repeated: the product is registered and poses “no unacceptable risks.”
Cancer is not acceptable to any of us. Neither are the other harms now being raised by independent scientists around the world.
So why is Ontario still allowing Chemical Forestry despite generations of opposition? Why are professional foresters still signing off on herbicide plans for PUBLIC forests?
The Province points to federal pesticide approval. But forestry is provincial. Ontario decides how its public forests are managed. Québec ended forest herbicide spraying in Crown forests in 2001. Ontario should have followed 25 years ago! Industry has had over a quarter century to modernize.
These are OUR forests. OUR watersheds. OUR wildlife. OUR communities.
Demand answers. Email the foresters, Ministers and elected officials. Ask the hard questions and tell them:
STOP POISONING OUR FORESTS. START HELPING THEM!
