September 2026 Experiences and learnings from the campaign trail talking to Kitchener residents across the city Wazhma Frogh is an international human rights lawyer, peacebuilder, and community advocate based in Kitchener. Born and raised in Afghanistan, she has spent more than two decades advancing women’s rights, peacebuilding, civic participation, and community-led solutions in Canada and internationally.Throughout her career, Wazhma has advised and worked with governments and international institutions, including the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. Department of State, and United Nations agencies. Thousands of conversations.Since May, our campaign has knocked on almost 6,000 doors across Kitchener.Every neighbourhood has its own character, but I continue to hear many of the same concerns: people are working hard and still struggling with everyday costs, families are worried about housing, and many residents feel important decisions are being made without enough opportunity for them to be heard. These conversations are shaping the priorities I am bringing forward in this campaign. Over the coming weeks, I will continue meeting residents across Kitchener, attending community events and sharing more detailed proposals on affordability, housing, neighbourhood safety, local services and democratic participation.
