Recent polling has revealed a significant change in how Canadians view the United States and the future of the Canada-U.S. relationship. A poll from the Angus Reid Institute found that a large majority (79%) of Canadians say they are more worried than hopeful about where the relationship with the U.S. is headed, especially amid ongoing tariff disputes and political tensions between the two governments.
Other surveys also suggest that many Canadians are avoiding U.S. goods and travel because of these tensions, and there’s a growing sense that trade and economic disagreements could hurt both countries.
The question is now, will the growing displeasure from both Canadian and American citizens be enough of a wake up call to our political leaders to show that we need change/reform of how relations between the two countries go. Or are they going to keep playing this game of cat and mouse until the cooperative alliance has been fully broken.
