Two questions were asked:
1. Why do you feel you should be a representative for Kitchener?
2. Were you encouraged to run for office? If so, by whom?
Ibrahim, Soran
RESPONSE
Sorry for the late reply. Here are my answers to your questions:
1. I am running because I care deeply about Kitchener and want to be a strong, approachable, and accountable voice for Kitchener/Ward 2 residents. Through my work and community involvement, I have had the opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and hear firsthand about the challenges they face. I believe our community needs practical solutions focused on affordability, responsible city spending, public safety, infrastructure, and quality of life. Based on that, my goal is to listen to residents, be accessible and transparent, and work together to build a stronger and more connected Kitchener for today and future generations.
2. Yes. Over time, friends, colleagues, community members, and residents encouraged me to consider running for office. They felt that my experience working with people, helping them navigate challenges, and advocating for others would be valuable in municipal government. Ultimately, the decision was my own. After reflecting on how I could contribute to our community, I decided to put my name forward and give Kitchener/Ward 2 residents another choice in this election.
Thank you again, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. I’m always happy to hear from residents and discuss the issues that matter to our community.
Soran Ibrahim Candidate for Kitchener City Council – Ward 2 Safer.
More Affordable. Greener.
